Announcements Gifted Testing Continues This Week!Have you requested that your child be assessed to determine eligibility for gifted services?
At this time, SUSD will be administering the CogAT and NNAT to students in grades 3-8. Below are the testing scheudles for 2012. If you do not see your child's school listed, they are not testing this week. Notification will be sent home with your child prior to their testing date so you are aware of the days when they will be tested.

If you would like your child tested for the gifted program there are three times throughout the school year when testing is offered. The next teting will take place at all Elementary and Middle Schools in January for grades K-1 and 3-8. For winter testing you will need to complete a referral form by December 1st and send it to the district gifted office or drop it off to the school office. You can download a form from the S.U.S.D. website, pick one up from the front office of the school or your child’s teacher or gifted specialist can send one home to you.
Notification of the specific dates will be sent home with each child prior to testing. Notification of test results will be sent via mail 30 days after each testing window. Students can be assessed once per academic year.
This year the district will be offering gifted testing at the following times:
Grades 3-8: September 6-30; referral forms due August 26. Unfortunately, late forms cannot be accepted. Students in Grades 3-8 who do not test in September may test in January.
Grades K-1 and 3-8: January 9-31; referral forms due December 1st. Unfortunately, late forms canot be accepted. Students who do not test in January may be test the following school year.
All 2nd graders will be tested district-wide March 13-30- Informed consent will be sent home to all 2nd grade families prior to testing.
